How Many Products Do You Normally Use?

Over the years, I’ve met a lot of different people with all kinds of concerns and seen a lot of products. I’ve discovered that many people have extra products hanging around that they don’t really like and don’t know what to do with them.

Why is that?

Everyone is always trying to find the ONE product that really WORKS...me too!

We need to KNOW that the product is working RIGHT AWAY or we move on to something else.

There are so many new products and outrageous product claims, so you need to know whether a product can actually solve your problem and the choices are overwhelming. So in order to keep up with all the latest ingredients and innovative products, we keep rolling the dice and end up with a boneyard of unused products in the bathroom.

The point here is to streamline your routine and get yourself down to a few core products that consistently work for you….Consult with a qualified Licensed Esthetician or MD whom you trust that can show you clinical evidence of their results.

The first step is to sort out your stuff:

1. Toss old and expired products – after one year if opened and after two years if unopened. We could talk about the reasons why, but the bottom line is that fresh products work better, especially antioxidant serums. Vitamin C serums only really last 6 months after being opened, so if you haven’t finished your antioxidant serum in 6 months, you are not using enough to help your skin. The bottle is designed to last 8-12 weeks at most.

2. Give unused products to a friend - if something you tried isn’t working for you, it might be perfect for your friend or another part of your body like your hands, arms or feet. Pass it on or use it up. Create space for something that works and improve your Feng Shui!

3. Return them – don’t ever be afraid to return a product no matter where it came from: me, the department store, your salon, the drugstore, your doctor, etc. Until you find products that you absolutely love, always shop from sellers that will accept your return. It’s even better if you can try a sample before you purchase.

Working with a qualified professional whom you trust can actually help you save time and money in the long run because they can make recommendations specifically for you and tell you what to expect.

Something else to consider: have you been loyal to a your product(s) for more than a year?

Products can take a while to work (3-6 months). So if you say yes to this question, hopefully your results have demonstrated that loyalty.

Cheers,

Sue
